Wacken Open Air - World's biggest heavy metal festival. How big? Go figure!
The holy grounds of Wacken - a dream destination for any metal head. If you are into Heavy Metal, this is the place that you need to visit at least once in your life. This was in my bucket list ever since I had watched Sam Dunn's 'Metal a headbanger's journey' - wiki. So it was a dream coming true to have witnessed Wacken 2019 in person. This was my first time experience attending such a massive festival with more than a hundred thousand people thronging the grounds. This year WOA was special in many ways. It was the 30th anniversary of WOA and it hosted Slayer's one of the final sets (Fingers crossed that they will play many tours again). It was an amazing experience to watch bands like Anthrax, Opeth, Testament, Saxon, Slayer etc and it was equally amazing to explore different genres and bands that I have not listened. One of the nights there was a maddening back to back rally of watching Vltimas, Grave, Unleashed and Dark Funeral. Attending WOA 2019 was one of the best things that ever happened in my life. Honestly there are no words that can describe the feelings. I would love to visit WOA again and be one of the many thousand people who don't give a damn about religion, politics, race or whatever, but only heavy metal.
If you want to go for Wacken festival, get in touch with Infinite Dreams and plan everything in advance. Once you are at Wacken, there are not many stores, but there is a huge super market called Metal Markt, where you can grab almost everything like food, toiletries etc, but sim cards are not available. So plan for your ISD connection in advance.
